April 10th, 2005

I just posted the Prom photos! Have fun browsing through them. In other news…Fine Arts day is tomorrow! Palm One is about to release a new handheld soon that many speculate will contain a small hard drive. Apple should release Mac OS v10.4 "Tiger" in a month or so. Lastly, Mozilla Org. is about to enter the final testing stages of v.1.1 of Firefox.

Get Perpendicular

April 9th, 2005

Hitachi has convinced me to post again with a little press release about an advance in their microdrive technology (like the tiny hard drives in current 4GB an 6GB mp3 players) that allows more storage. See the ad for yourself (it uses Flash…and turn on your speakers!): Get Perpendicular. Also, NA's Prom is tonight, so you can expect some new photos to be posted soon. My camera is not my date this year :p, but I'll try to take at least a few photos…

Long time no post

March 28th, 2005

The Spaniards left yesterday 🙁 We were all so sad at the airport. Now comes the task of putting the rest of my photos online. I have edited all the images and now I need to organize them into galleries. Check back tomorrow to see them! By the way, I just spoke to Jorge, and the Spaniards made it home safely.

We're home

March 11th, 2005

As far as I know, everyone made it home safely from Madrid. We're happy to be home, yet sad to leave Spain so soon. Sorry I couldn't update yesterday…now there are three new galleries of photos to browse: Our last day @ Las Maravillas, the dinner party Thursday night, and photos from the trip home. The Spaniards arrive Sunday night…¡Hasta luego!

Madrid #9

March 9th, 2005

Our trip is almost over 🙁 Today we went to classes again where we studied some Spanish literature, and Ali Meier recorded some must-see videos. Later we joined real classes with the Spaniards as before. After classes we separated into groups and ventured into the city on our own. Scott and I ate at a Spanish restaurant near the Puerta del Sol and then walked by various shops before returning to go home to host houses. As usual, check out the photos!

Madrid #8 (Segovia)

March 8th, 2005

Our trip to Segovia, Spain was well worth it. The blue sky made for some nice photos. As you can see in the photos, there was much snow on the ground in the mountains. We saw many intricately carved stone buildings and a cathedral similar to the one in Toledo (no photos allowed :(). I enjoyed our visit to the Roman aqueduct the most. The structure contrasted beautifully with the sky. Check the photos!

Madrid #7

March 7th, 2005

Well, today was another day of classes. We split into two groups to listen to different types of Spanish music and to sit in on classes. I enjoyed my experience in a math class: the universal language of math isn't really universal :p You have to learn the ways Spanish speakers describe formulas and such…Anyway, I found it easy since the class seemed to be a combination of Algebra and Pre-Calculus. No new photos today (sorry :(). Read the rest of this entry »

Madrid #6

March 6th, 2005

Not much to say today. In the morning I bought a Spanish music CD, a book of poetry, and a Spanish novel. For lunch I had my first authentic Spanish paella at the nearby restaurant Raices. Later, Jorge, some of his friends, and I went to see the movie Constantine in Spanish. No photos worthy of the website today. ¡Hasta mañana!

Madrid #5

March 5th, 2005

We are still having a great time in Madrid! Last night we all tried to meet at several places and failed, but eventually we all met walking down the street. After walking several blocks, we split up and most of us got lost in some way or another 🙂 But we all made it home safely. Today most of us went skating at the Palacio de Hielo (Palace of Ice :)). Afterwards I took some really good photos that you must see! Read the rest of this entry »
