January 19th, 2006 at 8:28 amNow that CES and Macworld announcements are starting to die off, the announcements I like to hear are growing in frequency. Those would be photography announcements if you had not already guessed. You see, PMA 2006 (Photo Marketing Association) is coming up at the end of February. Today's photo tidbit comes from Konica Minolta. They just put out a press release announcing their withdrawal from the camera and photo industry! Minolta was not just a small player in this industry…they were always third to Canon and Nikon in my mind. Lately Sigma has largely taken the role as the pioneering underdog and Minolta has had little more to offer from their line of cameras than the price point.
