EPKPhoto's Tidbits

Wow…I certainly have a lot of things to sum up. First, those of you who check my site often likely noticed epkphoto.com was down for the last 3 to 4 days. It happens that I had an issue with domain renewal and my limited Internet access in Las Vegas for the past week did not help matters. If you sent me an important email in the past few days, you may want to resend it because my email through epkphoto.com also did not work during this period. That's done with, so let's move on. This past week has been quite the exhausting one. After returning home from visiting family for the holidays and celebrating the new year, I flew back to Rochester. There I met with a group of ITSO club members and flew to Las Vegas the following day (Jan. 4). That's right, Las Vegas, for the world's largest technology show, CES, the Consumer Electronics Show. There we browsed the latest in consumer gadgets and tech goodness. We also learned the latest happenings at keynote speeches by Bill Gates of Microsoft, Sir Howard Stringer of Sony, Paul Otellini of Intel, Terry Semel of Yahoo, and Larry Page of Google. In the midst of these speeches, several stars appeared, such as Ron Howard, Morgan Freeman, Danny DeVito, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and best of all, Robin Williams. I took a decent number of photos, but since I am currently overburdened with work at RIT, don't expect to see them anytime soon.

Now, we have Steve Jobs's latest announcements from his keynote at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco earlier today. Tidbits about a new iPod FM tuner and remote, new versions of iLife and iWork, and Intel processors in the newest iMacs and the newly renamed 15.4 inch MacBook Pro (formerly PowerBook). These announcements really excite me since I plan to be in the market for a new Mac laptop before 2006 is over (I guess I have some time :)). It's quite interesting that Apple replaced the PowerBook and iMac first, products that were just recently revised in the last couple months. All good news to me though!
